Crooked Eye Tribe Showcase
Krap-Fang Shite-Tooth? Nah… Gorbad Ironclaw? Don’t think so… Who shall lead these nasty orcses to battle?
After deciding to paint the Empire in the colours of Talabheim, the orcs were still homeless. Should I make my own tribe? I browsed a map indicating the location of orc tribes in the old world.
The origin of the Crooked Eye Tribe was slightly rewritten by a Regiments of Renown supplement, but this original story posted on the Stuff of Legends page fills this grognard’s heart with warm-warhammer-mirth.
Not only are the Crooked Eye orcs located near Talabheim, but their origin is rooted in Oldhammer. They are checking all the right boxes.
In the years since Ruglud entered the ruined Dwarfhold, the Crooked Eye Tribe has grown in size and renown. Tiring of mercenary work, Gudruk sought a brighter future for himself.
Eventually other orc chieftains could no longer afford his sword. That’s when his funny orc eyes fell upon the bountiful Talabheim.
Whilst plundering a small Talabheim farm, Gudruk had an idea. The lumber here could be worked into a chariot fit for Gork.
”But ain’t no animals fer pullin’ it Chief”
Gudruk glared back with his crooked eye. “Stoopid! You gunna be carrying it, or I’ll have ya gizzard for tea!”Gudruk had his palanquin.
The banners were an important element of the army. Realm of Chaos’ post on Baneful Banners was a huge inspiration. That guy’s stuff thumps my thinker.
Here is the army list for Kings of War 2nd Edition. Unfortunately I had to include Goblin allies in order to get the artillery piece worked in.
I always knew that these four Epic Greater Daemons would come in handy one day…
Here is how the two armies scale up against each other.
So that’s it for me and 15mm! It’s been a very eye opening experience jumping into something other than 28mm. As I said in the last post, when I started into 15mm the figures seemed so small. As I began painting them however, I quickly realized that there isn’t as much detail reduction as I initially thought. In fact now that I have experience with 6mm, I would say that painting 15mm is MUCH closer to 28mm than 6mm in terms of time commitment.
