Cowering Fiend

Meet Kholko, a Cowering Fiend of Dis. Interesting to me that his makers decided to name him as such, given his appearance. Back in March I promised to make some progress on a Saga Age of Magic Warband. This mini is that next bit of progress.

I attempted to replicate the same sort of effects I had going on Krull, but I painted that beast many years ago, and my skills have honestly diminished considerably since then.

Here is the warband as it stands.

In other news:

My son played his very first table-top (carpet-floor) skirmish wargame today. He has taken a surprisingly keen interest in miniatures for a 4 year old.

There was a small meltdown when his first troop succumbed, but he rallied, showing glimpses of the stalwart general I know he’ll become. He finished the match by flying his favourite blue dragon into my “Elder” (actually a good name for a Dragon Ogre!), and subsequently biting my beastie’s head off.

He may have won the battle, but for him… the war will be long… presumably lasting until roughly high-school age, at which point the customary hiatus will commence. But after that… his indoctrination will be complete.
